Nelfinavir is an antiretroviral drug, which belongs to protease inhibitors and is used widely in combination with other HIV reverse transcriptase inhibitors for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. The FDA drug information document shows that nelfinavir's 1950 mg BID regimen results in discontinuation of drug due to toxicity in 9% patients'. The reason behind the toxicity is yet to be explored.
