Abstract: Many microfluidic systems need a self-contained active pump of a size comparable with the volume of fluid to be pumped. Key considerations are its reliability, power consumption, actuation voltage, ease and cost of fabrication and accuracy.Summary: Microfluidic systems are used for chemical and biological analyses, sensing, drug delivery and molecular separation.
