Abstract: In the area of Astronomy Charge-coupled devices (CCDs) have been the most common visible and near ultraviolet imaging sensors since the 1980s. Almost all major astronomical instrumentation utilizes CCD detectors for scientific observations. This work tests the instrumental characteristics of the CCD camera (Atik 314L+) part of the LISA spectrograph eventually to be installed on the 60cm telescope at Tuorla observatory, University of Turku. We measured the associated gain and read out noise, and test these values against its manufacturer specifications.Summary: Characterization of a CCD camera for astronomical purpose
