Abstract: This infographic introduces three label-based quantification techniques: iTRAQ, TMT and SILAC. Belong to in vitro labeling quantification, iTRAQ and TMT have similar principles. iTRAQ uses two main reagents: 4-plex and 8-plex, while there are up to 11 tags in TMT. Both techniques can label almost any peptide or protein samples. SILAC is an in vivo labeling method for quantitative proteomics. Protein labeling can be performed by adding light, medium or heavy isotope-labeled essential amino acids (lysine and arginine) to the cell culture medium.
