Abstract: Its function is to act as a carrier or component of the carrier of an active substance, and to promote product properties such as stability, biopharmaceutical properties, appearance and patient acceptability, and ease of manufacture of the product. However, with the continuous expansion of the pharmaceutical industry, traditional excipients are difficult to meet the market demand. The pharmaceutical industry is increasingly using multi-functional excipients or co-processing excipients system to achieve the key quality attributes of the final formulation.Summary: An excipient is any component, other than an active substance, that is present in or used in the manufacture of a drug product.
