Abstract: Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) is a set of standards for ensuring the quality, reliability and integrity of non-clinical health and environmental safety studies. In Malaysia, Standards Malaysia was appointed by Government of Malaysia on 13 February 2008 as the Compliance Monitory Authority (CMA) for monitoring compliance to the OECD GLP. As GLP CMA, Standards Malaysia has adopted the OECD Principles of GLP. To inspect the test facility/study, Standards Malaysia GLP Compliance Program (CP) manual was first introduced on 29th July 2009. It was revised for several times and the latest revision was on 14th April 2016 (Issue 4). The main improvements of the manual are the additional statements on the GLP inspector training program and the responsibility of Standard Malaysia as CMA. GLP CP is a voluntary program open to test facilities conducting studies for non-clinical health and environmental safety studies. Therefore, GLP certification can be applied by completing the application form available on Standards Malaysia GLP CP website. In short, GLP certification can increase the credibility, integrity and competency of an organization in managing laboratory studies by ensuring the development of quality test data for each study.Summary: Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) is a set of standards for ensuring the quality, reliability and integrity of non-clinical health and environmental safety studies.
