Abstract: Turbulence past a regular square grid is studied experimentally by Particle Image Velocimetry. We show the decay of turbulent kinetic energy. In this particular case, we observe the decay exponent equal to -1.95. The length-scales relevant for the turbulent flow are studied by using two approaches: (1) the range of second order structure function and (2) by calculating the spatial spectra of turbulent kinetic energy. In a full article accessible at https://doi.org/10.3390/pr8111355 we show, that the length-scale dependent TKE decays with different exponents when we focus to small or large length-scales.Summary: Turbulence past a regular square grid is studied experimentally by Particle Image Velocimetry.
