Abstract: Domains can be thought of as distinct functional and structural units of protein. The occurrence of conserved domain, super families and multi domains having putative functions like insect pest resistance, improved quality parameters, resistance to abiotic stresses vis temperature, drought, salinity or other evolutionary functions and physiogenic nature have been identified from wild safflower Expressed Sequence Tag (EST) and their possible utility in the comparative genomics study for the identification of important genes for improvement of safflower.Summary: Identified conserved domains or gene families from the ESTs could be utilised for the identification of gene-targeted markers and for development of functional markers to accelerate marker assisted backcross breeding in safflower.Report abuse »
