Abstract: Placenta when situated anteriorly and measures more than 3.3 cm, while posteriorly located measuring more than 4.0 cm, patchy hypoechoic areas, changes in shape and thickness by manual pressure during sonography are criteria for Jelly-like placenta.
It can predict adverse pregnancy outcome. Indentification of jelly-like placenta demands close follow up of fetal growth.
