Abstract: O-RADS Simplified – An algorithmic approach to categorize ovarian & adnexal lesions
Learning objectives:
To simplify O-RADS using a step-by-step algorithmic approach to categorize ovarian and adnexal lesions
Introduction:
O-RADS is the acronym for Ovarian-Adnexal Imaging Reporting And Data System. It is used to standardize description of ovarian / adnexal lesions detected using ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging. It takes certain specific features of these lesions into consideration and it stratifies these lesions categories based on their risk for malignancy. This reporting system also recommends the next step of management for these lesions.
Since the purpose of the O-RADS system is to create uniformity in describing these lesions, classifying these lesions, and recommending appropriate management for these lesions, a simplified step by step approach in assessing these lesions is of paramount significance.
Materials & methods:
We devised a simplified step-by-step algorithmic approach for the ovarian-adnexal lesions and using this approach, we assessed these lesions for specific features (also called as risk predictors) given by O-RADS committee and International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA) group.
Conclusion:
Simplifying the assessment of the ovarian-adnexal lesions by adhering to this algorithmic step-by-step approach will ensure the purpose of the O-RADS tool.


Summary: ORADS (Ovarian & adnexal - Reporting And Data System) is a radiology reporting tool whose purpose is to create uniformity in describing these lesions, classifying these lesions, and recommending appropriate management for these lesions. Simplifying this tool by an algorithmic stp by step approach will ensure the purpose of this tool is met.References: References:
