Abstract: Superoxide dismutase (SOD, EC 1.15.1.1) is an enzyme that alternately catalyzes the dismutation (or partitioning) of the superoxide radical into either ordinary molecular oxygen or hydrogen peroxide. SOD is a type of metalloenzyme, with the physiological functions of anti-oxidation, anti-aging, and improving immunity.
