Poster Information
Abstract: Vocal cord dysfunction is quite common accounting for 2-15% of suspected asthmatic cases per year and up to 30% of suspected cases of refractory asthma or cases presenting as brittle asthma.
Treatment is available as long as the primary care physician recognizes that not all that wheezes is asthma.
Summary: Vocal cord dysfunction is more common than one would think. References: 1. Flavia CL, Hoyte MD; 2013; Vocal cord dysfunction; Immunology and Allergy Clinics of North America; 33(1); pp 1-22.
